Southshore Enterprises, Inc is Hiring a Warehouse Supervisor Near Spencer, IA
Southshore is a privately held and managed group of integrated third party logistics companies established in 1978 providing warehousing logistics, fulfillment, quality control services, transportation services and real estate leasing and development its customers. The Southshore Companies have expanded beyond the initial St. Joseph, Michigan operation to include locations in Benton Harbor, Bridgman, Kalamazoo and White Pigeon, Michigan; Elkhart, Indiana; Normal, Illinois; and Spencer, Iowa.
\nResponsibilities
- Focus on driving increases in warehouse productivity
- Supervise warehouse picking and put away processes and strategies
- Assist with the hiring and training of lift truck operators.
- Recommend ways to improve warehouse safety and process efficiency.
- Help maintain a clean and orderly warehouse.
- Assist site management to train, assign work and motivate warehouse staff.
- Help to ensure a safe work environment.
- Effective daily communication with site management, office, and warehouse personnel.
- Prior warehouse supervisory or management experience preferably in agricultural seed manufacturing and distribution related business.
- Experience with SAP or similar inventory systems and MS Windows programs.
- Knowledge of forklift SAP computer inventory scanning system.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Employee team building skills.
- Attentive to detail and accuracy.
- Able to assist site leadership with managing, recruiting, retaining, and motivating staff.
- Must be able to perform physical work including stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, balancing, bending, and repetitive motions. Able to lift 50 lbs.
- Fluent in Spanish is a plus.
- Our bonus program starts January 8th through March 17th.
- $1.00-$2.00 topper bonus added immediately upon start dependent upon position.
- All employees included!
- Overtime also available January through March.
- Warehouse experience: 1 year (Required)
- Warehouse & Distribution Center Supervisor Experience: 1 year (Required)
